πŸ’° Income Report: May 2017

By on

May was a tough month as I had no inventory in stock at FBA warehouses, so my primary focus was expanding my print-on-demand offerings on Amazon Merch.

Amazon FBA

Sales: 0
Revenue: $0.00
Profit: $0.00
Gross Margin: 0%
2017 πŸ’° Profit to Date: $42.54

Short & sweet: I had no inventory for sale on Amazon.com during the month of May. My sales from the month prior were test sales (using sample orders from various suppliers).

My "real" product orders were being produced & shipped via air express to get sales rolling in as soon as possible - but for now, I was waiting.

Royalty: $99.57
Avg. Royalty: $4.53
2017 πŸ’° Profit to Date: $114.04

I think something clicked after getting my first few sales, where I felt like I was slapped in the face with a realization of the potential of the Amazon Merch program.

You could say I was hooked, and to make things better, I remember one morning reading a front-page Reddit.com thread solely dedicated to people sharing funny t-shirt ideas that they saw people wearing.

I spent hours combing through it, and over the course of 2.5 hours ended up with a spreadsheet with hundreds of niche ideas for t-shirt designs.

Given my low tier & subsequent limited daily uploads, I made sure to methodically upload the max number of shirts allowed per day, and my effort was rewarded with sales.

Dropshipped Print-on-Demand

Sales: 0
Profit: $0
2017 πŸ’° Profit to Date: $0.00

Towards the end of May I had done some reading up on the GearBubble.com platform and registered to attend webinars that would help me understand exactly how it worked as a dropshipping print-on-demand fulfillment service.

I soon realized that the work I was doing on designs for Merch could be placed on a multitude of additional products, so I signed up for their e-commerce integrations plan.

I run a few popular websites where I collect advertising revenue via Google Ads (formerly Google AdSense). I also collect revenue via direct partnerships with advertisers & from affiliate links, but for times sake, I'm going to omit those deals.

I won't be doing month-to-month write ups here because I don't spend much time maintaining these websites. They started out as passion projects that allowed me to become a better web developer, but today I spend very little time working on them.
