πŸ’° Income Report: April 2018

April was businses as usual: my top 4 FBA contributors had 30%+ profit margins, and I took an opportunity to deep dive into my best selling Amazon Merch designs.

April was a very similar story to March, I had all of my best selling SKUs in stock and the top 4 all maintained a 29%, 31%, 31%, & 32% profit margin respectively.

There's no better feeling than being able to kick back, turn down advertising bids, and rake in the profits from SKUs that have a high organic rank.

It's the FBA dream!

I also signed up with teikametrics.com, a robust platform that can be used to automate sponsored product campaign management. You set a target ACoS, sit back, relax, and let it work it's magic!

It also suggests keyword changes, such as automatic ? manual, broad ? phrase, & phrase ? exact. It also suggests negative keywords based on your wasted ad spend!

My most profitable shirt design in the month of April was... a Cinco De Mayo shirt! Chasing trends never hurts (even though I definitely prefer evergreen designs).

I'd also like to note that I sold a very profitable shirt that was a re-upload after initially getting a copyright strike - let me explain:

The shirt was related to a very popular computer game, referred to as "PUBG". The parent company eventually ended up Trademarking "PUBG" on t-shirts, and overnight many of my highly profitable designs were taken down.

It would've been easy to be sad and give up on the design, but I personally LOVED the design and knew it would sell. What did I do? I took the trademarked text off of the shirt and swapped it out for something funny (the shirt also included a graphic). Last, I re-uploaded the designs.

Then, I launched AMS ads where I targeted the trademarked word, allowing the edited design to compete on the primary keywords.

Note: I avoided the word in my listing & in the design to remain compliant

Dropshipped Print-on-Demand

My dropshipped print on demand sales were relatively steady, and I was definitely still learning how to solve this puzzle outside of Q4.

Two hundred dollars and change of profit is great, but for the work I put in, it didn't feel like it was enough.

I didn't have the answers at this time, but I stayed committed to the process (because at the very least, I knew Q4 of 2018 would be MASSIVE if I could be consistent with my uploads).

I run a few popular websites where I collect advertising revenue via Google Ads (formerly Google AdSense). I also collect revenue via direct partnerships with advertisers & from affiliate links, but for times sake, I'm going to omit those deals.

I won't be doing month-to-month write ups here because I don't spend much time maintaining these websites. They started out as passion projects that allowed me to become a better web developer, but today I spend very little time working on them.
