πŸ’° Income Report: March 2021

By on

In March of 2021 I saw my Amazon Merch sales surpass my Amazon FBA sales for the first time since 2018, due to supply chain issues with my suppliers overseas.

Amazon FBA

Sales: 579
Revenue: $14,928.91
Profit: $3,500.97
Gross Margin: 23%
2021 πŸ’° Profit to Date: $13,653.18

This month's FBA sales were seriously hindered by supply chain issues.

Multiple suppliers have been delaying my new shipments citing issues with acquiring the raw materials to produce my orders... so I'm stuck waiting, without many options.

This chart below shows the daily sales breakdown for my Fulfilled-by-Amazon private label products:

Keep in mind, any products that's out of stock for a portion (or full duration) of the month due to things like supply chain issues or prolonged shipping time will reflect in lower overall sales.

And here's my Campaign Manager statistics from Seller Central:

March was a very solid month for me and the best part: all of my sales were evergreens... no trending designs contributed to this HUGE month!

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come throughout the year.

I've continued to push new products on a daily basis until my upload slots are completely filled up, and increased the pricing on all products with a sale to the point that I make $5+ in royalties per sale.

Nothing really stood out in the month of March for my non-Amazon Merch print on demand sales (compared to month-over-month numbers).

My Amazon.com sales were my leading profit generator, and I continued to push products manually each day to Seller Central via the Printful integration and also using PODTurbo's upload automation.

Amazon KDP

Sales: 88
Profit: $165.70
Avg. Royalty: $1.88
2021 πŸ’° Profit to Date: $392.86

March 2021 KDP Profit

I saw a ~50% increase in profit generated month-over-month in my KDP business.

$165.70 of profit was generated on 88 sales @ an average royalty of $1.88 per paperback book.

I look at KDP as "extra free money", as my "minimal" approach involves using automation to convert my Amazon Merch designs into Amazon KDP book covers, that I accompany with a variety of low-content interiors.

Profit breakdown by market:

One really cool aspect of KDP is that each book published can be made available for sale on many of Amazon's biggest international marketplaces, with the click of a button! (UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Canada, & Japan)

Here's a breakdown of my profits by Amazon marketplace:

  1. United States: $93.43
  2. United Kingdom: $40.53
  3. Canada: $17.16
  4. Germany: $9.68
  5. Italy: $3.28
  6. Spain: $1.61

Everyone should be taking advantage of Amazon KDP, regardless of how much time you have to dedicate to it (don't forget - it can be almost fully automated!)

If you'd like me to show you how I went from $0 to exceed $3,000+ profit selling low-content books on Amazon, you're in luck.

By selling "low content" books, we avoid spending time writing the content for book interiors & instead focus on selling notebook-style paperback books to various niche markets. Trust me - it works!

I run a few popular websites where I collect advertising revenue via Google Ads (formerly Google AdSense). I also collect revenue via direct partnerships with advertisers & from affiliate links, but for times sake, I'm going to omit those deals.

I won't be doing month-to-month write ups here because I don't spend much time maintaining these websites. They started out as passion projects that allowed me to become a better web developer, but today I spend very little time working on them.
