πŸ’° Income Report: December 2020

By on

What an end to 2020! Lets look at my passive income from December 2020 and cover the story behind the profit and revenue earned from online sales.

Amazon FBA

Sales: 960
Revenue: $16,194.51
Profit: $4,886.54
Gross Margin: 30%
2020 πŸ’° Profit to Date: $90,414.64

I had predictable inventory issues in December, due to Amazon's restrictions on our ability to keep products in stock.

When you dig a bit deeper, you often find that they impose restrictions on you for for letting some FBA SKUs go out of stock.

And then remove your ability to replenish the stock by limiting your ablity to send in a reasonable amount of inventory.

As you can see from this chart, my most profitable SKUs was quite limited as my inventory levels for many products remain at 0.

I'll be taking a strong look at using Shopify fulfillment in order to sell on Walmart in 2021.

And here's my Campaign Manager statistics from Seller Central:

This was the type of strong Q4 I was hoping to see from Amazon Merch!

Many people I talked to mentioned that their November sales were better than December, but I saw a +$1,834.24 increase month over month.

My plan in the near-term is the increase my prices across the board and see how that affects my bottom line.

I'm aiming to make at least a $5 royalty per sale for now, and I'm exploring using Productor to bulk-manage some AMS advertising campaigns (with very low bids).

My Dropshipped Print on Demand sales took a bit of a dive this month, unlike my Amazon Merch sales which increased month over month.

This is likely attributed to the vast majority of my profit coming from Amazon.com, and my setting the bulk of my listings handling times to 4+ weeks (to keep my seller account safe).

I really believe that in this case it's better to be safe than sorry.

Here's my Printful sales chart for my Amazon (.com) Seller Central account (Gearbubble sales not pictured):

  • Amazon (.com): $1,060.81
  • Redbubble: $431.85
  • Ebay $65.52
  • Amazon (.co.uk): $55.17

I believe that much of my UK reduction in sales can be attributed to the reduction in economic activity as it relates to being locked down.

Last, my efforts were rewarded with a Printful volume discount of 7%!

January isn't typically a huge month for POD sales, but any discount to the baseline cost of Printful's products helps.

I was unable to capture the normal screenshots from the Orders dashboard because some genius web developer broke the "Orders" view on the KDP Reports Beta dashboard.

If you'd like me to show you how I went from $0 to exceed $3,000+ profit selling low-content books on Amazon, you're in luck.

By selling "low content" books, we avoid spending time writing the content for book interiors & instead focus on selling notebook-style paperback books to various niche markets. Trust me - it works!

I run a few popular websites where I collect advertising revenue via Google Ads (formerly Google AdSense). I also collect revenue via direct partnerships with advertisers & from affiliate links, but for times sake, I'm going to omit those deals.

I won't be doing month-to-month write ups here because I don't spend much time maintaining these websites. They started out as passion projects that allowed me to become a better web developer, but today I spend very little time working on them.
