Etsy CEO Josh Silverman did an interview w/ Jim Cramer on CNBC recently where he revealed some valuable insights into how shopping behavior changed in April
(Obviously things have changed since ~March, and as business owners we need to be agile, follow customers, & serve demand)
He revealed some interesting bits of information about which categories were hit hardest by the "Cerveza Sickness"
& which categories have exploded in demand
He goes as far as to separate face mask sales from non-face mask sales, because of how many actually sold through the site
Etsy was a great pivot as far as places to sell face masks, as Ebay/Amazon both made it incredibly hard (if not impossible) to sell them at all...
(I don't know why I expected more from Amazon's engineers & their ability to write an algorithm to prevent price gouging without shutting down the category entirely, but I was wrong)
