I'm a big fan of JungleScout for a few reasons:
- As I mentioned in my 2018 Success Story, I used their Product Database to find my first FBA product niche which made me over $80,000 profit in 2018.
- I used their Chrome Extension to research & validate that initial niche before investing in any product launches.
- The founder/creator of Jungle Scout is an all-around good guy. He has a second Amazon account where all profits generated are donated to charity.

The tools are geared towards new sellers in my opinion, but they're still helpful for experienced sellers like myself.
Any tool outside of their Chrome extension is referred to as a part of the "web app", where you'll need to create an account & be logged in before you can use a free trial.
In this article I'd like to highlight the utility provided by each tool.
Product Database

The product database is a part of the Jungle Scout web app, and it's their attempt to recreate Amazon's massive catalog of products on their own database.

They accomplish this by employing web crawlers that change IP addresses and scrape data points from Amazon.com, and store the information on their servers.
While they can't produce perfectly accurate information, they're able to track best seller rank (BSR) of products over time to project how well they sell.
They also leverage the 999 Trick to monitor inventory levels on a product-to-product basis.
With this data, they're able to algorithmically categorize products as High / Medium / Low competition vs High / Medium / Low demand.
Ideally, as Amazon FBA sellers we'd like to launch products with high demand and low competition :)
Here are the filters I used when I found my most profitable niche to date, which just so happened to be the first brand I launched on Amazon:

You'll need to sort through the results that it generates, it's far from a perfect system... but trust me, it works.
I would typically sort through for ~2 hours to find maybe 5-10 good product ideas that I liked.

Sometimes I'll export them as a CSV and just scan through them row by row in Excel as quickly as possible to remove items that I know I wouldn't want to sell.
In closing, the Product Database is still a great place to find profitable Amazon FBA products in 2019.
Product Tracker
The Jungle Scout Product Tracker lets you add products by ASIN or URL so that key metrics will be tracked moving forward.

It doesn't give you historical data, but will track in-depth information from the date you add them, such as:
- Inventory Levels
- Units Sold
- BSR
- Buy Box Price
It charts the information out for you over the date range in a very easy to digest, user-friendly way:

It's a great way to track products within a specific niche that you might be considering entering as a seller in the near future, by allowing you to keep a close eye on your competition.
It also allows you to group related products, which is perfect for tracking an entire niche at once.
I should mention that the FREE Chrome extension Keepa also does a great job of serving basically the exact same function as Jungle Scout's product tracker.
Niche Hunter
Jungle Scout's Niche Hunter functions very similar to how the product database functions, in that it takes certain input criteria and queries it's "clone" of Amazon's catalog to generate results.
Instead of spitting out profitable products, it attempts to find entire niches for you to launch one or more FBA products in.

The input criteria includes things like:
- Product Categories
- Average Demand
- Average Price
- Opportunity Score
- Competition
- Listing Quality Score
- Word Count
The Opportunity Score attribute is one of Jungle Scout's most popular features, especially for new sellers, as it assigns a numeric value to entire niches representing it's potential profitability based on current demand vs competition.
After you set your filters, it will generate a list of results including potentially profitable niches:

The results will break down each niche by the filters mentioned above, so that you can evaluable all of them at once for each result.
I'd personally recommend sorting results by Opportunity Score, from high to low.
